AFTER A FASHION began by following artist and designer, Nicole Marie Fuller, and anthropological documentarian, Sally Levi, as they came up with an experiment to see if Sally would have more fun if she dressed fun. This led to the social and cultural question: are we what we wear? In preparation for the experiment, the two opposite women expedition across the seven continents of the world to talk with designers, nudist, Muslims, Scotsmen and Eskimos, sizing up whether fashion determine identity or identity determine fashion. Revealing much deeper cultural and social issues, including ingrained prejudices. The two women question whether fashion has more of an overall negative effect on women, but also if it is contextually limiting to themselves. AFTER A FASHION breaks down stereotypes and thinks about the world of fashion from a less fashionable perspective.
