THE LAST GREAT SPORT OF MALE DOMINATION.
NOT. ANY. MORE.
Meet the TACKLE GIRLS, an exceptional team of football players, as they hit the field to knock down lingering misconceptions that women can’t play real professional football. No lingerie models here, just true grit and determination. Same game, same field, same uniforms. These women play with the same power and intensity as the men. And they’re making history. Just like the pioneers of women’s professional tennis and the WNBA did before them.
Now the 2013 American All-Star team is headed back into the international arena to defend their World Championship title. A mom, a teacher, a rock musician, an executive and an entrepreneur all suit up to kick butt on the gridiron. TACKLE GIRLS follows the U.S. team to the International Federation of American Football’s 2013 Women’s World Championship in Finland. We go inside the locker room, the huddles and on to the field to witness the team prepare for the biggest game of their lives against competitors from Spain, Canada, Sweden, Finland, and Germany. TACKLE GIRLS explores the lives of players both on and off the turf, and reveals what drives them to sacrifice so much in pursuit of the sport they love, giving a whole new meaning to “hits like a girl.”
